We are pleased to be able to extend another option to our members for transacting your business. You will be able to check your account balances, view transaction history and print a copy, transfer funds from savings to make a loan payment, request a check from your share/savings account, purchase a new Cd, and get updated information on savings and loan dividend and interest rates. You can also update your address and telephone numbers, as well as, print a copy of our most commonly used forms.

IMMEDIATE LOAN POLICY CHANGES

 

The maximum number of loans that any account holder may have open at any given time is two (2). A possible exception would be someone who has enough funds in their share account to cover a share secured loan or someone who can show proof of assets which would more than cover the requested loan and it must be approved by the Board of Directors.

 

Loans may only be refinanced if they have been in effect for 6 months and are current. Loans less than the amount of $750 may only be applied for every 6 months.

 

LOAN POLICY CHANGES COMING JANUARY 2010

 

In order to keep our loan rates competitive, the Board of Directors have voted to make a change in requirements for obtaining and/or refinancing loans. This change will be effective January 1, 2010. All members must have and maintain a savings/share balance of $100 in order to apply for a new loan or refinance an existing loan. Loans which are already in effect at that time will not be affected, but will not be refinanced unless there is a balance of at least $100 in the savings/share account. This new policy was adopted in order to partially offset the cost of processing loans, since accounts having a balance less than $100 are not paid interest/dividends, and the money does not stay in the account long enough for us to invest it and earn interest. The interest we earn on investments, is the money we use to pay YOUR interest, as well as, cover expenses to operate the credit union. We hope this will not be a burden for anyone, but rather a positive outcome for everyone. Hopefully, the next several months will give everyone time to plan for this change.

CHECKS ARE NOT MAILED AUTOMATICALLY

PROCESSING AND HANDLING

It has come to our attention that when a check is requested, the system says that a check will be mailed. We DO NOT MAIL checks unless specifically requested to do so.  Check requests from those who are at ERC or other off-site facilities will be sent by inter-office mail or courier unless you wish to pick up your check. You will need to send us an email if you wish to have your check sent or mailed to you. We can not leave checks at the guard station, take them to the bank for deposit or personally deliver them to you. You may call us and arrange for someone else to pick-up a check for you. The person will need to provide identification and sign a receipt in order to pick up your check. Checks will be written in the account holder's name(s) only. When making withdrawals or redeeming CD's in the amount of $20,000 or more, you will need to let us know 2 business days in advance.

PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE OFFICE FOR THIS SERVICE.  We must have your request in writing. You may email us or you may fax your written request to be added to our Internet Teller service. Our fax number is 205-581-2125 or you may email us at sriemployeesfcu@VirtualCU.net . You may also mail us your request to; 2000 Ninth Avenue South, Birmingham, AL  35205. After we receive your written request, we will add you to our Internet Teller service and then email or fax you the information about how to access your account. Please be sure to provide us with the information how we may contact you. You will be assigned a user number and a temporary password. The system forces you to enter a new password the first time you log-on so be sure to have a new password in mind. From the Home Page, you will simply need to click on the Internet Teller tab at the top left of the page and it will take you to the log-on screen.


FRAUD ALERT

We have had some people bring it to our attention that there are still some phishing emails going around in an attempt to gain information for fraudulent purposes. Please note that this Credit Union will NEVER ask you to provide any non-public, personal information by email or telephone. We will never ask you to click on a link and provide information online. We already have your information in our files and if we need to contact you, we will do so by letter, or we will ask you to call our office. Always be very careful about providing anyone with your personal information.
